Toronto – June 16, 2026 — Food, Health & Consumer Products of Canada (FHCP) today announced a leadership transition within its Government Relations team. Erin Gowriluk will join the organization as Vice-President, Government Relations, effective July 6, 2026, succeeding Dennis Prouse, who is moving from his full-time role into a strategic consulting and advisory capacity.
Mr. Prouse's last day as an employee will be July 31, 2026, after which he will continue to support FHCP as an external advisor through the transition period, ensuring strong continuity on the organization's key government relations files.
"Dennis has been a tremendous advocate for our members and a valued leader of our government relations work, and we are grateful that we will continue to benefit from his counsel as an advisor through this transition," said Errol Cerit, EVP, Industry, Public Affairs & Membership Development at FHCP. "At the same time, we are delighted to welcome Erin Gowriluk to the team. Her depth of experience in federal policy and her track record of bringing industry together make her exceptionally well suited to lead our advocacy in the period ahead."
Ms. Gowriluk joins FHCP from the Canada Grains Council, where she serves as President, and she is also Vice-President of the International Grain Trade Coalition. She previously led the Grain Growers of Canada as Executive Director and held senior government and industry relations roles with Syngenta Canada and the Alberta Wheat and Barley Commissions. She is widely recognized for uniting diverse industry partners and advancing federal policy priorities in a complex trade and regulatory environment.
