Join Sobeys' Climate Action Plan and be a part of the important role suppliers play in the journey towards decarbonization. During this webinar, representatives from Sobeys’ National Sourcing & Corporate Sustainability teams will present on how they plan to engage and collaborate with suppliers on scope 3 emissions (indirect emissions through the value chain) to achieve both short-term and long-term emissions reduction targets.

Eli Browne Head of Sustainability - Canada, CHEP Canada Inc. Eli Browne is a passionate sustainability professional with
14+ years’ experience bringing sustainability initiatives to life in complex
corporate settings. Currently, Eli is the Director of Corporate Sustainability
at Sobeys Inc, Canada’s second largest national grocery retailer. As Director,
Eli leads a national team responsible for developing and managing
sustainability strategy, Environment Social and Governance (ESG) reporting and
executing strategic initiatives at Sobeys Inc. Eli was recently recognized by
Canadian Grocer Magazine as a Star Woman in Grocery and one of their 2021
Generation Next Award Winners.

Steve Denny Director, National Sourcing, Sobeys Inc. Steve Denny is currently in his 29th year at Sobeys. His early years were spent in replenishment and wholesale with the last 25 years in Category Management/Merchandising both Grocery and Fresh. Steve has held leadership roles both regionally and nationally, and has always enjoyed the relationships and dealings with Sobeys’ supplier partners. As the Director of National Sourcing, Steve simplifies processes and procedures with the supplier community, as a whole, and improves consistency amongst all of internal banners to better position Sobeys Inc. to leverage its scale. He has also taken on the topic of Supplier Diversity for Sobeys Inc. as the business continues to appropriately evolve. |
Danielle Reid Sustainability Manager, Natures Touch Frozen Food Danielle Reid is a sustainability professional based in Toronto, Ontario. Her passion for sustainability and love of food has inspired her to build a career dedicated to creating a healthier, more resilient & equitable food system. Currently, Danielle is the Sustainability Manager at Sobeys, where she leads the execution of Sobeys' ethical & sustainable sourcing programs, and the scope 3 component of Sobeys' Climate Action Plan. |
Michelle Saunders Vice President, Sustainability, Food, Health & Consumer Products of Canada Michelle Saunders is the Vice President of Sustainability at FHCP where she leads the association’s efforts on public policy related to plastics and packaging, and Chairs FHCP’s Sustainability Working Group. She has worked as a lobbyist and policy advisor for trade associations in the business sector for the past 19 years and was a political advisor in the Ontario government prior to that.
