Marc Giroux
EVP & Chief Operating Officer - Food, Metro Inc.

Marc Giroux joined METRO in 2009 as Vice President, Marketing, where he was responsible for marketing and corporate communications. He led METRO’s customer-focused loyalty and data strategy, including the partnership with dunnhumby and eCommerce. After leading merchandizing and the Metro banner, he was then appointed Executive Vice President, Québec Division Head and national eCommerce in 2019. He acts as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer – Food since 2022.

Before joining METRO, he worked in the telecommunications industry for more than 20 years, where he held several key positions in strategic planning, sales, marketing and general management in Canada and abroad.

In addition to a B.A.A. in finance and an MBA in marketing and eCommerce, Mr. Giroux pursued advanced studies at Harvard Business School, as well as at the Ã‰cole supérieure des sciences économiques et commerciales (ESSEC) in Paris.

He was also Chair of the Quebec Cystic Fibrosis board for many years and Honorary Chair of the annual Gala. He also served for six years as a member of the Board of Le Phare, Enfants et Familles.

 

Pietro John Rollo
Senior Vice President, National Procurement, Metro Inc.

Pietro John Rollo joined METRO Inc. in February 2023 as Senior Vice President for National Procurement. He leads the procurement teams for both the Food and Pharmacy divisions, and the manufacturing activities including the bakery chain, Première Moisson. 

Before joining the company, Pietro dedicated three years to a large multinational retailer, in Canada, where he specialized in Global Sourcing, Private Brands, and Fresh. This experience culminated in his leadership of the entire Food division.

Pietro’s experience extends beyond North America and he brings nearly 20 years of experience from Europe having worked at leading international retailers Carrefour, Albert Heijn and Delhaize. He held multiple leadership and executive roles and played a key role in the Ahold Delhaize merger.

On a personal note, Pietro can speak four languages. He is married to his wife Tiziana, and they have two children, Emily and Edward.
