February 18, 2021 (Toronto, ON) — Food, Health and Consumer Products of Canada (FHCP) today expressed thanks to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance for recognizing many of the serious regulatory /product labelling challenges facing the manufacturing sector. FHCP applauded the Committee’s recommendation to “consult with stakeholders and consider compliance costs before changing product labelling” and hope to see this make its way into the upcoming federal budget.
FHCP also urges government departments to take the time to review and revise their regulatory agenda in the context of COVID as the manufacturing sector continues to prioritize making everyday essential products for Canadians.
